LTA Youth is the recognised grass roots tennis coaching method across the UK and we have lots of classes that offer Red, Orange and Green level classes. This is a great place to gain experience and get started!
Aimed at older teenage players, WPTA runs a range of classes that teach basic skills and situations to players aged 12-16yrs. We have options after school and at weekends and classes focus on both technical and tactical areas of play.
Looking for your child to learn to compete? If your child is a higher level player or aiming to be one, then you can try out for our WPTA performance squad program. The squads meet on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and the coaching aims to prepare players for playing in singles and doubles situations. There is also off court support, team tennis and entry into competitions which are all designed to help players take tennis into a competitive environment.
Note: Squads are available by invite only
If your child needs more personal coaching for their technical development, we can arrange 1:1 coaching for them each week. This is perfect to work on areas that need to be strengthened such as groundstrokes or serving.
Its hard to choose a tennis program for your children. There are a lot of choices to make and its not always easy to find the right coach to teach your child. At WPTA, we try to make our philosophy the major attraction to parents.
Quite simply, we want to help all of our players to learn how to play tennis correctly - good technique, good movement and good tactical understanding of the game. We hope this can lead to our players competing in events if they are interested but we also want players to learn correctly now so they can play tennis for the whole of their life to a good level of play.
Oh and of course..we want the classes to be fun! But that's a given if you want players to come back and practice every week of course!
WPTA runs a series of fantatsic holiday camps over the school holidays in Easter, Half Term and the Summer! Each of our camps is aimed at teaching skills and strategy to players across a wide range of ages and ability levels. There is a set program of activities each day and daily prizes and awards for effort, skill and competition winners!
Our camps run from 10am-1pm during the week (players aged 4-11yrs) then we also run teenage afternoon sessions from 2-4pm (players aged 12-16yrs). Please check the schedule for full details and our upcoming camps or click below for further information.
