JUNIOR PERFORMANCE SQUADS

If your son or daughter wants to take their tennis more seriously and is interested in playing in competitive tennis matches and events, then we can consider inviting them to the WPTA performance squads. This side of our program is aimed at preparing tennis players for the technical and tactical demands of playing tennis matches and playing tennis over the course of their junior age groups.

WORKING TOGETHER TO HELP YOUNG TENNIS PLAYERS..

We have over 25 years of experience of teaching the right things to make great young tennis players. Not just on court but with development of their character and confidence as well.

01

Technical Development

Build the basics and then everything else becomes easier. Our knowledge is very high on what young players need to work on at different stages of their tennis journey.

02

Tactical Development

By offering match play every week, our squad players can learn through their mistakes, develop and identity on court and enjoy the thrill of winning matches

03

Social & Team Play

We aim to make a team environment for our training groups so that players build social bonds with each other and respect for the coaches. We run teams so they can support each other at events.

04

Have Fun On Court

Being in a performance tennis program can still be fun - the heard work is actually often the best bit but its always because our players and coaches enjoy what they are doing and trying to achieve

Further Information

To get involved in the WPTA performance squad, we recommend speaking to the Head Coach Steve Cockell about your child's ability and your own desire to get them to play performance tennis and compete. We will then arrange a time to come down and trial one of our classes - we are always looking to add players to our squad at the right levels!

Other things that are good to know about the squad program are as follows:

  • Specific age group classes with progressive learning each week
  • Small group sizes (4 players per coach ) allowing more hitting time and coaching feedback
  • Access to squad kit and equipment
  • Invites to further training camps, tournaments and events during the calendar year
